Mk 8 Permanent Oil Spill Boom
The Mk 8 Oil Spill Boom is a heavy-duty boom engineered specifically for permanent installations. Its strength, deep skirt, high freeboard and reserve buoyancy flotation give it extraordinary effectiveness under adverse conditions.
The Mk 8 is a high technology oil spill boom engineered for long service life, easy field maintenance, better spill control and ease of recovery.
It is available in 24” (61cm), 36” (91 cm), 48” (122cm) overall heights and in increments of 50’(15m)or 100’ (30m) section lengths.
Mk 8 Oil Spill Boom Features
Floatation: Molded external foam 24” (609mm) long x 10.5” (267mm) high with splash guard handle and stainless steel mounting hardware
Fabric: 80 oz. or 100 oz. Urethane coated polyester or 175 oz. PVC
Connectors: ASTM F-962, Universal Slide or USN style connectors all coated for corrosion protection
Ballast: Lead Ballast Weights hardened with antimony
