Mk 7 Style Heavy Duty Oil Containment Boom
The Mk 7 Style Heavy-duty oil containment boom is manufactured with special Kevlar material for its strength characteristics. The Kevlar fabric eliminates the requirement for any cable tension members. This oil boom is designed for frequent deployments in harsh conditions.
The Mk 7 boom can be stored, deployed and retrieved with specific reels ranging in sizes based on quantity of oil boom complete with power pack, tow bridle and tow line assemblies, etc.
It is available in either 24” (61cm) or 36” (91cm) overall heights and in 50’ (15m) or 100’ (30m) section lengths.
Mk 7 Oil Containment Boom Features
Floatation: 24” (61cm) long x 10.5”(27 cm) high Solid Molded Closed Cell Polyethylene Foam with UV Inhibitors and Anti-Oxidants Incorporated for Durability
Fabric: Woven KEVLAR 3000 denier 10 x 10 coated with Urethane with UV Inhibitors and Anti-Oxidant Additives Tensile Strength of over 1,000 lbs./inch of width
Edge Gaurd: 3/16” (5 mm) thick x 1” (25 mm) wide Urethane coated Polyester Edge Guard that is welded to the Top Edge of the boom. This guard reduces possibly of fatigue induced tears under adverse conditions.
Connectors: ASTM F-962 Standard Marine Grade Aluminum with Stainless Steel Hardware
Corrossion Proection: Clear Coat Sulfuric Anodized (per MIL Spec # : MIL-A-8625,Type II, Class 1) Aluminum
