The JBF 420 & 430 / DIP 400 Oil & Debris Recovery System utilizes the JBF patented retractable Dynamic Inclined Plane, DIP400 skimming module. Reference Patent No. 5,384,043, January 24, 1995.
The multi-purpose system can also incorporate debris collection, fire fighting, dispersant spraying, bilge collection, boom deployment and cargo hauling systems.
The JBF 420 & 430 Oil & Debris Recovery Systems employ a Dynamic Inclined Plane (DIP) oil recovery module that can be retracted above water during the vessel's travel to and from the oil spill site. The JBF 420 & 430 can be outfitted with single diesel inboard/outboard engine or twin outboard engines to provide a fully self-propelled skimmer. The JBF 420 & 430 systems are also available in a non-propelled version, which can be towed or pushed by available vessels of opportunity. The JBF 420 Oil & Debris Recovery Systems are supplied with transport trailers for fast deployment. The JBF 420 & 430 are equipped with gasoline or diesel driven hydraulic power supplies, to drive the JBF DIP400 skimmer, oil transfer pump, debris collection belt, and fire pump. The JBF 420 & 430 are equipped with a forward V-sweep containment boom rigging system, which enables the sweep width of the skimmer to be increased to 8 feet (2.4 m.)
Fire Monitor pushing out oil from behind pilings to be recovered by DIP 400 skimmer.
Fire Monitor washing shoreline while oil is then recovered by DIP 400 skimmer.
DIP 400 Oil Skimming Module deployed over the bow of the vessel.
Twin Honda Four Stroke gas outboards engines offer very quite, low and high speed propulsion. This vessel can obtain 25 knots speed with equipment onboard.
Dispersant Spray System includes: twin 10-foot (3 meter) long spray arms, dispersant pump with eductor and digital flow control and sea suction pipe. Dispersant supplied by others.
Debris Collection System offers additional benefits to this multi-purpose vessel. This system can collect branches, grass, trash and other debris that is typically present during oil spills, as well as, for use during everyday cleanup of marine areas, such as harbors, marinas, rivers, etc.
