JBF Division Profile
JBF Environmental Technology, taken over in August 1998, has manufactured over 250 oil spill recovery systems and vessels since 1969 for government agencies and commercial operations globally. The vast products line includes small over-the-side skimming systems to complete offshore, integrated oil spill recovery vessels.
The small oil recovery systems include portable, shallow water units like the DIP400 and Vessel of Opportunity Skimming Systems (VOSS), such as the DIP600 system, which was recently chosen by the USCG Strike Teams over all other skimmers on the market. The 123' (23 meters) JBF DIP 6000 vessels, the Valdez Star, in Prince William Sound, Alaska, and the Shearwater, in Puget Sound, Washington, are two of the largest integrated Oil Spill Recovery Vessels in the world.
JBF Newest DIP 6000 recently commissioned for Kuwait Oil Company is the largest recovery vessel throughout the Persian Gulf .

JBF has manufactured oil skimmers and oil spill response vessels for over 30 years. The JBF product-line includes:
- Low cost portable skimmers weighing only 137lbs / 62 kg
- “Over-the-side vessel of opportunity skimming systems for use with existing workboats, tugboats and barges, near shore/harbor
- Shallow water skimming vessels (23'/ 7m - 50'/15m)
- High capacity, offshore skimming vessels (82'/25m - 230'/70m)
- Debris Recovery Systems
All JBF vessels are designed for multi-purpose use including fire fighting, debris collection, boom towing, personnel transport, command platforms and rescue duty. JBF currently has over 225 oil skimmers and vessels in operation around the world.
The success of the JBF skimming system lies in the "dynamic" feature of inclined plane technology. The constant motion of the belt (inclined plane) creates a hydrodynamic path for intercepted oil to follow. As a result, JBF systems achieve the highest rate of efficiency in the widest range of oil types and operating conditions.
