Retrowrap Standard and Heavy Duty

RETROWRAP is a cold applied, splash zone and sub sea corrosion protection system. It is specifically designed to provide an alternative to factory applied coating for new construction in remote areas, or the retrofit protection of risers, piles and pipelines; inshore, offshore or sub sea. Retrowrap units may be removed and refitted to facilitate substrate inspection at regular intervals throughout the service life of the system. All Retrowraps demonstrate the same characteristics. The various models depend on the particular application for which they are used. Standard Retrowrap is used for inshore pile protection while the heavy duty Retrowrap HD is used for offshore riser protection.

RETROWRAP Standard is a wrap around corrosion protection system specifically designed to provide an easily installed retrofit installation for use on sub sea pipelines and jetty piles through the splash zone.

RETROWRAP HD is a wrap around corrosion protection system specifically designed to provide an easily installed retrofit installation for use on risers, sub sea pipelines and jetty piles through the splash zone in off shore and deep water locations or where heavy duty resistance to floating debris or ice floes is required. RETROWRAP HD'S elastomeric properties and flanged closure system provides the unique facility of removal and subsequent replacement to facilitate routine inspection of the substrate and replacement of damaged sections throughout the service life.

Both Retrowraps have hoop tension imposed in the tough resilient outer skin which acts to force the inner layer against the surface of the substrate thereby causing the sealant and its corrosion inhibitor to form a close association with the substrate. The thixotropic nature of the sealant allows it to be exuded into any surface irregularities thereby providing a seal thus terminating the supply of oxygenated water to the riser, pipe or pile surface.

Both Retrowrap systems have the facility to act as a carrier, when required, for the *Fouling release system which is cold bonded to the outer skin and specifically formulated to prevent the build up of marine growth throughout the operational life of the system.

These systems are modular and therefore a multiplicity of units may be deployed to encapsulate virtually any length of square or "H" section pile.
